The design works by turning the pen clip to any of the 8 writing materials and pushing down the knock to activate the clutch mechanism. Make sure to completely retract the lead back into its original compartment before choosing a new color.
To refill, turn the top knob until the silver line aligns with the black arrow. Press the top button to remove the old refill, then insert a new one through the tip while holding the button. Turn the knob again so the silver line no longer matches the arrowthis locks the lead in place.
